New super hospital built in place of existing with an area of approximately 115,000m², consisting of 800 beds and 24 theatre suites.

Two multi-storey car parks and external parking to provide 2,700 parking spaces are also part of the project as well as improvements to existing access routes and the overall hospitals infrastructure.

Churngold was the Groundworker for all phases from substructures for the new buildings and all external works and finishes such as surfacing, courtyards and public areas.

Subcontract Works

Churngold used their nationally renowned experience in delivering the full range of Groundworks solutions to deliver the following works:

Groundworks: Post demolition sub structures including piling works, retaining walls and all drainage, and slabs.

Significant Highways improvements to existing hospital infrastructure involving multi service diversions.

Hard landscaping: External finishes such as brick paving, path edging, soil planters and slabs were prepared and laid. As much material as possible excavated on site was recycled and used elsewhere to reduce amount of waste being transported away from site.
