
Sustainability
At Churngold we have always understood the need to reduce the impact of our operations on the environment and help our clients to select materials and designs that will reduce the amount of CO2 generated by a project, and since 2014 we have recorded our Carbon Footprint across the business so we can work towards being a net zero carbon business.
We really do “act locally whilst thinking globally” and always explore how we can maximise the use of recycled materials, reduce overall material use and minimise the number of traffic journeys involved in all our projects by producing a Sustainability Action Plan (SAP) to identify what measures we and our supply chain will undertake to deliver our works as sustainably as possible.
In 2020 not only did we developed 10 Environmental Green Rules that sat alongside our existing 10 Golden Health and Safety Rules, identifying how we undertake all our projects to not just reduce our carbon footprint, but to improve our business and therefore improve the service we provide to all our clients, but we also committed to offset our Carbon Footprint by UK tree planting. To date we have already planted over 13,000 saplings across XX acres to contribute to offsetting our 2020 and part of our 2021 carbon footprint and have recently purchased another site to create further Churngold Woodlands as part of this commitment.

We have always believed how important it is to be a responsible employer and business and how engaging with our employees and local stakeholders can make our business a more responsible and successful operation. We are very proud of our strong company image in the areas we work and regularly support local initiatives and co-operate with local charity and groups.
