Asbestos presents arguably the UK’s greatest occupational health challenge. It is a significant risk to those in the construction industry especially from the re-development of Brownfield sites.
Asbestos can be an expensive and potentially hazardous material to deal with but Churngold Remediation Limited has the experience and expertise to ensure it is managed efficiently and safely on your behalf.
Our knowledge of the remediation process enables us to provide cost effective and practical solutions to the safe removal of asbestos, using trained and experienced personnel supported by asbestos professionals.
Frequently, historic practices of poor waste management have led to soil becoming contaminated with asbestos. Churngold Remediation Limited has experience of clearing land contaminated with asbestos cement products including managing large remediation projects contaminated with asbestos insulation, asbestos coating and asbestos insulating board.
Regular reassurance air monitoring is undertaken to demonstrate that there is no potential to cause harm to the site operatives or the wider environment and that our removal techniques are not liberating asbestos fibres.
Churngold aim to develop solutions for the removal of asbestos tailored to the particular site conditions that offer best value for the client whilst working safely and in compliance with all legislative requirements and industry best practice.
The principal method of remediation of asbestos contaminated soils is disposal to landfill or capping. However, simply condeming asbestos impacted soils, usually as hazardous waste, is an unncessary expense. Churngold Remediation have a wealth of experience of methods and procedures to segregate the asbestos from the impacted soils. This will either:
Reduce the volume of soil going to landfill
Allow a reduction in the classification of the soils to non-hazardous
Allow the retention of treated soils on site
This will realise savings of at least 30% with greater than 60% achievable when compared to straight disposal to landfill.
