New Welsh headquarters for the HMRC, funded by Legal and General, the new offices will be the new base for the HMRC in Cardiff City Centre.
The structure is split over two levels, with a basement for car parking on the west side and the ground floor on the east supporting a15 story RC/Steel Hybrid Frame.
Two large concrete cores, where installed with 380m3 and 480m3 in Cores B and A respectively. These cores where poured in their entirety at 2 different stages of construction.
Intricate waterproofing details and single sided shutter system where used to line an existing basement structure, to provide a new basement level car park.
Two large RC boxes where also formed to encapsulate the HV/LV tranformers.

Foundations/Cores: Large, heavily reinforced cores with integrated lift pits, and pile caps installed below the water table, under tight programme constraints in line with a full set of SIKA details.
Drainage: All basement drainage was wrapped in an RC frame suspended beneath the slab to offer stability in the fluctuating water table, all installed under the water table.
Basement & Ground Floor Slabs: Ground Floor and Basement slabs poured to NCSC specification.
Retaining Walls: Single sided RC Temporary works design poured with fully inspected SIKA detail package and warranty.
