Churngold plant 13,000 saplings creating the Robbie Procope Memorial Woodland
It may have taken over 3 years to buy the land and get the necessary permissions, but last week Churngold finally completed the creation of the Robbie Procope Memorial Woodland by planting just over 13,000 native saplings as the first step to offset its carbon footprint each year from 2020 onwards. Over time these saplings will offset Churngolds 2020 carbon footprint and some of its 2021 footprint too, whilst Churngold look for the next area that can become a Churngold Woodand to offset its carbon footprint by UK tree planting.
Andrew Brown, Managing Director said “ It was fantastic to spend time with Robbie’s partner Jan and her family to finally complete the woodland named after our colleague Robbie who sadly passed away in 2020. We hope the woodland will become a haven of peace and tranquillity and allow everyone who knew Robbie to enjoy this happy place for years to come.”
If you are wondering where the background music to the accompanying video came from, it was the song the family spontaneously sang together when planting the last of the saplings and raising a glass to Robbie.
