Kier has awarded 3 Churngold Awards for the Morriston Hospital site.
Congratulations to the team at Morriston Hospital who have recently completed the HV cable trenching works. Approximately 1.2km of trenching, cabling and re-instatement works were undertaken in a live hospital environment, where there was a continuous need for traffic and pedestrian management. Churngold’s excavation team, headed by Tim Morgan, undertook these works very professionally, always ensuring both the safety of the works and the safety of the public. The works went without incident with our client remarking on how, despite the works having the capacity to disrupt the normal operations of the hospital, they have in fact had very little impact due to the exceptional management and performance of the team. In total, 689 existing live services were encountered as the trench traversed around the hospital site. There were 0 service strikes. Project Manager, Mark Poole, and Site Manager, Craig Archard, presented each member of Churngold’s team who worked on the HV cabling with high street vouchers to thank them for their efforts. |
Their Site Manager is quoted in an email saying:
' Mark, Craig, team, this is an outstanding achievement.
I used to think that 168 services within a site on a live military base set the benchmark, but this completely knocks that out of the park.
Proof of robustness in procedure, your team and leadership.
Well done.
Regards Mark'
