It is 3 years since our colleague and friend Robbie Procope sadly passed away, and whilst it has taken slightly longer than we had hoped, we have recently received confirmation that our plan to plant approximately 8000 trees as part of our 2020 onwards carbon offsetting programme has been approved by Natural Resources Wales.
Therefore, as stated previously, we will be naming this new woodland the Robbie Procope Memorial Woodland in memory of Robbie. So, it was lovely to be able to take Robbie’s partner Jan, their daughter, 2 of his sisters, plus a family friend to not only see the location of this future woodland, but to raise a glass and plant 6 larger trees ahead of the mass planting of the remaining saplings later in the year.
Andrew Brown, Churngolds Managing Director said “ marking the third anniversary since Robbie's death by meeting up with Jan and the family was very worthwhile and to show them and hear their thoughts about Robbie’s memorial woodland was a real privilege.“
Churngold committed in 2020 to offsetting its ongoing carbon footprint by UK tree planting.
