Churngold are working with Wates to build 106 new homes on Braunton Crescent and Clevedon Road, Llanrumney, which includes the first social houses in Cardiff in a generation.
60 of these plots comprise of of 2 & 3 bedroom houses and 2 bedroom apartments for private sale. The remaining 46 are made up of 2 & 3 bedroom houses and 1 & 2 bedroom apartments for council rent and a small number made available to first time buyers through the council’s Assisted Home Ownership Scheme.
The homes are built to the design principles of Code for Sustainable Homes level three and so will be energy efficient and also will meet Secure by Design principles for a secure and safe home.
All ground floor slabs were formed using the traditional block and beam system, upon a mixture of strip footings and steel tubular piles under reinforced ring beams. All internal drainage connections and water mains were installed prior to the block and beam with inspections from NHBC, LABC and clerk of works at all key stages with all remaining services installed retrospectively.
